Unit 1 provides an understanding of where food
comes from and what processes it undergoes to move from the farm to the table. A brief overview of organic farming practices and methods and how those methods contribute to sustainability is explained. Additionally, this unit details the underlying principles and specific holistic requirements surrounding certification of an organic product and how to identify if a product is certified.
