OSGP Leader Schools Program 

The Leader Schools program has been developed to recognise and reward exemplary models of school gardens. Our Leader schools are also important for assisting the BFA to continue to grow the program through the provision of important feedback on lesson content as well as offering advice and inspiration to other schools.

In 2011 there were ten schools awarded a materials grant to assist with maintaining organic school gardens. Grants to schools are dependent on funding available to the program in each given year. In 2012 there were no grants available to schools for this program and in 2013 we are not offering any expansion of the schools involved in this program.

2011 Leader Schools

Our Leader Schools received minimum $1000 retail value of gardening goods. 

We were able to offer this level of assistance to schools with the support of BFA registered companies and other organisations who generously supplied certified or allowed input organic products. Our partner companies are fundamental to our supportive programs, projects and events. Click here to view these companies.

Materials grant

 • A minimum of $1000 retail value of gardening goods such as organic fertilisers, worms, seeds, weed mats etc from supporting businesses! 
• Benefit from the advice of expert organic gardeners 
• Receive promotion as a Leader School through the Organic School Gardens website, BFA’s nationally distributed magazines, at events and in the media 
• Provide us with lesson feedback  which will serve to assist other schools for adopting gardening programs in the future
